Though we live in Latvia, where earthquakes are practically non-existent, nonetheless everyone should know, how to construct a stable house, so it doesn’t collapse as a result of vibrations. Children, in pairs, were given a task to make one such house, made out of carton and sticks, which, upon placing the house on a moving plaque, wouldn’t collapse. This activity ir great in the sense, that the children had fun, at the same time using logical thinking and putting into practice their acquired knowledge. The smile of the youths, seeing their work not collapsing, was truly genuine.
